Yes, rangers have a sense of humor!
I work closely with California State Parks rangers and with members of the US Fish and Wildlife Service. I sometimes marvel at their good humor in the face questionable visitor behavior, lost dogs, lost people, and medical emergencies.
I recently saw this post on Facebook from Redwood National and State Parks. If you’ve never visited this beautiful area of northern California, the national and state parks sit side-by-side. Visitors can see the tallest trees on Earth as well as prairies, oak woodlands, wild rivers, and 40 miles of rugged coastline.
I couldn’t help chuckling when I saw the magazine cover spoof the parks sent out. Perhaps the rangers are as COVID stir-crazy as the rest of us….
