Prescription Strength Nature – A Hilarious Commercial for the Outdoors (Video)

When I first saw this hilarious video on Facebook, I mistook it for a drug commercial. My initial confusion quickly gave way to laughter!

This mock commercial won 6 “Best Short” awards at film festivals and I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s about time that nature gets its own commercial!

As a bonus, I also included a short video that explains why the authors created the commercial. From my volunteer work guiding urban youth in wilderness areas, I realize the authors have a point. Most children are unfamiliar with nature because they’re not exposed to it. But once taken into the outdoors, they can’t get enough!

By the way, the positive health effects of nature are well documented in scientific studies. I have written about some of these fascinating findings. A great book on the subject is Richard Louv’s classic, Last Child in the Woods.
