How to Make Branch Crayons

I lead nature hikes for several organizations including California State Parks and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. And if you’ve hiked with me before, your first moments include adding your name to a sign-in sheet using a twig pencil.

I have several twig pencils I received as gifts from fellow naturalists over the years. And I plan to start making my own when my current supply runs out.
