The holidays are approaching and, quite frankly, I look forward to greeting them.
I look forward to the warmth of family gatherings, exchanging best wishes with old friends, and the moments of quiet reflection on our collective good fortune.
This is also the time of year when we traditionally give and receive gifts. And it is often difficult to select a gift for someone who enjoys bushcraft, nature, and the outdoors. He or she usually isn’t interested in many of the flashy trappings of urban life.
Are they immune to Madison Avenue’s siren call? Not necessarily. But for them the best gifts align with their interest in the outdoors. I hope the “gift guides” appearing on NatureOutside this month stimulate ideas for gifts that resonate with people who deeply enjoy the outdoors.
