My pet peeve is when people offer this unsolicited assessment when I haven’t even asked…in fact, all I have done is smiled and said “Hello.” Brendan’s cartoon illustrates the very reason why…because “You’re almost there!” is a relative assessment!
I was hiking back from a waterfall in Hawaii. As I hiked downward, toward the ocean, tourists in flip-flops huffed and puffed uphill toward the falls. As we passed, each one asked my group, “Is it worth it?”
The phrase became our motto. Whenever someone in our group proposed an activity, we would all chime in, “Is it worth it?” 🙂
